16th & 17th Day 21st September & Saturday 22nd - Washington DC by Blanca Palau

On Friday morning I woke up at 5:45 because we all had meeting at 7:30 in Flint Hill. I ate cereals with milk. It was my last breakfast with my lovely family. They helped me put the suitcases in the car, and then I saddly said goodbye to all the members of the family: Natalie's parents, and his two brothers, Ethan and William. I would miss them so much! We were leaving to the airport later at 1:55 pm. We got on the car and drove directly to school. Once there, we met with our teachers. They prepared for all of us a delicious breakfast such as muffins, cakes, donuts, ... . When the breakfast was finished everyone went to different classes with their partners. It was the last time we could enjoy a the differences between American and Spainsh lessons. After a while  I attended Spanish classes and we learned some things from Mexican immigration. The next class was Econ, where they did a test and after that I had antrophology. That day the students were studying different types of rocks and their function in the ancient times. Finally, the last subject was Phsichology, they were learning about neurons and cells. It was delightful ! At 11:50 we had lunch in the cafeteria, where I ate a tasty salad and a sandwich. We were all so hungry! After a while, it was time to get back to class. At 1:55 pm we left the class we were in. The time to say goodbye arrived. I must say some of us, including me, started crying as all these 16 days had been so happy with all the wonderful students and teachers in Flint Hill. Especially Natalie, my American girl. We had a lot of fun those two weeks.  The unhappy part was saying goodbye from the bus which was taking us to the airport. After that, we arrived there. We were ready to take the plane. We bought some souvenirs at the airport while we were waiting for our departure. Our flight got off from the Washington airport at 6:10 pm and arrived at Barcelona eight hours later, at 7:50 am. We put our suitcases on the bus and after all these amazing and unforgettable sixteen days we were going home with our families!

Today it was the worst day because we left of  Virginia, Washington.
In the morning I wished that I wake up later and lost the plane because I knew that today I was leaving of here.

When I finally woke up, the mother of Nadia, was waiting for me in the kitchen and  told me good bye.
I was very sad and I said that I will come back some day.
While I was sitting in the car I saw the Nadia's family, and he's dog Charlie. They told me good bye. Nadia and I went to school.
At school the teachers prepared one breakfast and the time that we had we assisted at some classes.

Finally, one bus took we at airport and here we were waiting and a few minutes later we returned  at home.
I will never forget these days! Thanks for all.

16th and 17th Day Friday 21st September and Saturday 22nd - Washington DC by Guillem París

The last day. I completely have no words to describe how I felt theses days. I can only tell you guys thank you. Thank you for letting us know how do you live, your hobbies, your culture, etc. I believe in fate and I guess one day we’ll stay again together, I don’t know when, where and how, but I hope the earliest, don’t you? So, I explain a bit what had we done. When we woke up we said the last goodbye to Silpha, Sameer’s mom, his dad and his brother.

They had been lovely so leaving was too much hard for us . When we arrived at school we put our suitcases in a room and we did some classes such as French or Greek. I was happy and sad. Finally, Kristin and of course the school's director gave us some FHS’ t-shirts, and then we ate some breakfast too, with all our host friends in the Spanish class.

Finally we made our farewell and we went to the Washington’s airport, where we had to wait loads of hours and eventually, seven hours more in the plane, and moreover two more from Barcelona to Les Borges Blanques... But when I saw my parents, I felt so happy and excited! My best travel ever!

14th Day Wednesday 19th September - Washington DC by Blanca Guillamet

There were 2 days left to return to Spain and we all began sad for leaving but we must enjoy the rest of the days. Therefore on Wednesday we took the metro to go to The Pentagon, is the headquarters of United States Department of Defense, a guide made us a tour of the building and explained us what hapenned the 9/11. Moreover we also went to The National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial where were buried 184 people whose lives were lost at the Pentagon and on American Airlines Flight 77, their families, and all those who sacrifice so that we may live in freedom.
After visiting the Pentagon we went to the Arlington National Cementery, is a United States military cementery in whose 624 acres (253 ha) the dead of the nation's conflicts have been buried, begginning with the Civil War, as well as reinterred dead from earlier wars. Such as the grandfater of my host Lily who was a military or the famous president John F. Kennedy.
Furthermore that day was Ender's birthday, so he invited us to his house. In the party we ate pizza, we played poker, billiards, table tennis, listened to music... It was fun to spend all the afternoon with our friends of US.

14th Day Wednesday 19th September - Washington DC

On Wednesday, even the trip wasn't finished yet we could start feeling the nostalgia of these days, all of us were thinking on Friday, when we were going back to Spain. So, to summarize we woke up early and took the metro to have the privilege of visiting the Pentagon, the United States Department of defense who's in charge of coordinate and supervise all agencies and functions of the government concerned directly with national security and the United States Armed Forces. There we went for a walk through some hallways with a guide who explained some details and showed us the indoor 11th September memorial. Subsequently we move 200 meters from the building to the outdoors to see the other 11th September memorial. Afterwards, we took the metro again to go to the last destination, The Arlington National Cemetery where rest in peace 400,000 warriors, which fought for their Country. Besides, there's John F. Kennedy's grave. It was a great and kind of hot day.

On Tuesday 18th September we woke up at 6am like every morning, we took Sofia's car to went to Flint Hill School, to take a bus that takes Guillem, Tània, Yoss, Judith, Andrea, HuiLun and I at the school where they study the children of Flint Hill. When we arrived, we went to see the little children and we played ''la bomba'' with them. We surprised a lot because they didn't use ''la bomba'' when they play, they use another word. When the game was over, we went with the biggest students in the school and we spent 20 minutes asking questions for them to learn Spanish. At the end of the classes with the Flint Hill School students, we went to a tour around the school. I liked the day because I learned a lot about what they do at Flint Hill School. I really like the education system used by teachers. After visiting the school, we went to the other School, at Flint Hill School to have lunch. And finally we took Sofia's car to back home.
